YMCA Bucks is launching its new “Here for Our Community” initiative to show off what it has to offer.

One of the biggest perks of the new initiative is three local “Y” branches will open their doors to the public for free through the end of December. This includes the Newtown, Quakertown, and Warminster branches.

“The YMCA is here for you,” said CEO Zane Moore. He noted many community members are suffering with health and wellness needs, mental wellness, or social isolation due to the pandemic. “We are dedicating more resources than we ever have before to helping you meet these needs.”

Moore added they’ve taken all safety measures possible so people can feel comfortable visiting the Y.

But for people who would still rather not try visiting in-person, there is an online option.

“We have a great virtual platform with thousands of online and live classes,” said Moore. “Now through the end of January you’re welcome to use that free of charge. Either way, we want you to view the YMCA as a partner in all of your needs and as a resource.”

Meantime, the Fairless Hills branch remains under construction. Zane Moore will be joining UpWords with Chris Ermer Thursday, Dec. 9 at 1 p.m. to give an update on its progress and possibly a timeline for reopening.
