The numbers are in for how much charity golfers raised for YMCA Bucks in late June.
More than 180 golfers attended the Friends of YMCA of Bucks County’s 3rd Golf Invitational at the Union League Golf Club at Torresdale. Together, they helped to raise more than $220,000 to help local children and families.
In addition, 48 organizations sponsored the invitational. Independence Blue Cross was the title sponsor.
YMCA Bucks President & CEO Zane Moore thanked everyone involved for their efforts and contributions. The money will go toward supporting summer camp programs for kids at local Y branches.
“We are actually overenrolled in camp this year,” said Moore. “Higher than we’ve ever been before.” He added the increased number of enrollees is likely a result of coming out of the pandemic.
“A majority of these kids are here on financial assistance,” said Moore. “And that’s made possible through the over $200,000 we raised at the golf outing.”
