Plans to build the first ever drive-thru only Wawa are in the works for Falls Township.

Instead of the usual Wawa experience, the only options will be curbside pick-up and the drive-thru. It will cost an estimated $2 million to build the 1,840-square-foot location.

This new building will go up at the site of the former Acme at the intersection of West Trenton Avenue and Pine Grove Road. The location already has a Rite-Aid and a normal walk-in Wawa.

The intersection sees 25,000 vehicles per day, according to Wawa Real Estate Project Engineer Mike Redel. This, combined with the location being near a residential area, played a major factor in their decision.

“Wawa is very excited about our planned Drive Thru location in Falls Township,” Redel said. “This is a brand-new venture for us, and we think this location is the perfect place to test it.”

“The menu will be limited to our most popular items, with a focus on value bundles with chips and a drink.”

Construction on the project will begin within the next several weeks. Wawa hopes to open on December 10, 2020.
