Trees are an essential part of the ecosystem and on Saturday, October 21 you can plant one in the community.
Neshaminy High School secured a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection to design a program to rehabilitate the surrounding area.
Volunteers will focus on the Idlewood area, behind the High School, to improve the walking paths in the woods. Those interested will also participate in outdoor environmental education opportunities in the community.
Throughout the program, volunteers will clear debris and invasive species from paths and install measures to reduce erosion.
The October 21 tree planting event will run from 9 a.m. to noon. Then on November 2, more plants will be added along the paths with informational cards to provide education on local species.
