To celebrate the message of Martin Luther King Jr., Bensalem is kicking off Unity Week with a special breakfast at Parx East Monday morning.

Diversity Committee Chair Toby Kahn with B3T says churches, synagogues, and other religious organizations are all working to Build a Better Bensalem Together.

“The diversity, the unity, the wonderful camaraderie that we have with our Bensalem neighbors and beyond,” are all highlights for Kahn.

Now in its 15th year, B3T is getting students involved as well.

“We’ve enlisted the seventh and eighth grade in the local middle school to write essays on unity,” Kahn explained. “And of the twelve winners, ten of them will be reading their essays at the houses of worship.”

Events continue all week long, with the breakfast at Parx East Monday morning being RSVP only. The time is an opportunity for Bensalem and Lower Bucks residents to learn about their diverse communities.

People are encouraged to attend religious ceremonies at the following locations. Visitors should bring non-perishable food items, baby care products, and toiletries to donate to local food pantries.
