Bensalem State Rep. K.C. Tomlinson has been named chair of the House Human Services Subcommittee on Drugs and Alcohol.
The subcommittee focuses on those with special needs, as well as child welfare services, foster care, child care, adoption assistance, and issues regarding drug and alcohol dependence.
“This is a special honor and great responsibility as I’ll be dealing with issues that are very close to my heart as I’ve witnessed the great pain caused by drug and alcohol abuse,” said Tomlinson (R-Bucks).
“The subcommittee will investigate the tremendous challenges caused by the opioid crisis, among other pressing issues. We must make sure the state has the best programs available to help those facing addictions.”
This is Tomlinson’s first appointment to chair a subcommittee. It marks a milestone as she serves her first full term in office.
State Rep. Frank Farry applauded the appointment.
“Rep. Tomlinson is the ideal choice for this position as I have worked closely with her, understand her sensibilities and respect her judgement,” said Farry (R-Bucks).
