The U.S. arrested 12 Russian intelligence agents apparently bent on disrupting the 2016 presidential election. This news was released by the U.S. Department of Justice on the eve of President Donald Trump’s meeting in Helsinki with Vladimir Putin.

Timing is everything, but I can’t help but wonder why the DOJ Deputy Attorney General, Rod Rosenstein, made this announcement prior to the Trump-Putin. Very odd.

Regardless, the indictment of the Russian intelligence agents is the biggest thing to come out of the Muller investigation so far. The indictment details Russian attempts to intervene in the election by hacking into the files of the Democrat National Committee, Clinton campaign and Hillary Clinton’s emails.

To what end, we don’t know. We can surmise it is part of the ongoing goal of Putin and Co. to disrupt a nation (any nation) from within, mainly sowing discord and chaos.

The Muller investigation into whether or not there was Trump collusion with the Russians apparently fueled the investigation of foreign cyber attacks, etc, and led to the indictments, Friday. Still no strings leading to the Trump campaign.

In my opinion, the Russians did not care who won the 2016 election. And I believe their
dark goals have been accomplished.
