Firefighters in Bristol Borough rescued an 85-year-old man from a fire at the Grundy Tower senior living apartments.
A fire alarm went off at about 6:30 Monday night, alerting first responders to a blaze in a room on the seventh floor at the apartment on Pond Street.
Police say sprinklers kept the flames at bay until firefighters forced their way into the apartment. They doused the flames and brought the senior to medical responders.
The Bucks County Rescue Squad took the man to Lower Bucks Hospital to monitor his condition.
Meantime, smoke and water damaged other apartments. Most residents were able to return to their rooms, but some residents have been relocated with family. The American Red Cross is assisting.
Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
