It’s Halloween! Despite the expected rain, some adventurous trick-or-treaters will inevitably go out. And police are reminding children to stay safe.
The Falls Township Police Department says only go up to a home with a porch light on, stay in a group, and to never enter a home or car for a treat.
The Middletown Township Police Department advises people to consider glow sticks for visibility purposes. They also recommend being extra careful when crossing streets.
The MTPD is also taking the opportunity to make some other lighthearted suggestions for parents, including:
- “Don’t follow signs into the woods promising full sized candy bars.
- Always check your kids candy and claim tampering with all the best stuff.
- With projected wind gusts up to 40 mph, weigh down your kids by putting some rocks in the pockets. They won’t last as long, double win.”
Morrisville Borough is a little more restrictive. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult and trick or treating must wrap up at 8 p.m.
Motorists should also stay on alert. Driving slow, especially in residential areas, may save a child’s life.
