It’s Halloween! Despite the expected rain, some adventurous trick-or-treaters will inevitably go out. And police are reminding children to stay safe.

The Falls Township Police Department says only go up to a home with a porch light on, stay in a group, and to never enter a home or car for a treat.

The Middletown Township Police Department advises people to consider glow sticks for visibility purposes. They also recommend being extra careful when crossing streets.

A list of suggestions from the Middletown Township Police Department.

The MTPD is also taking the opportunity to make some other lighthearted suggestions for parents, including:

  • “Don’t follow signs into the woods promising full sized candy bars.
  • Always check your kids candy and claim tampering with all the best stuff.
  • With projected wind gusts up to 40 mph, weigh down your kids by putting some rocks in the pockets. They won’t last as long, double win.”

Morrisville Borough is a little more restrictive. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult and trick or treating must wrap up at 8 p.m.

Motorists should also stay on alert. Driving slow, especially in residential areas, may save a child’s life.
