Starting Monday, July 24 the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will resurface roads expected to last the week.
The lane restrictions will take place at nighttime and affect about 10 miles throughout Bensalem, Bristol, Middletown, and Lower Makefield Townships.
From 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. roads scheduled for work:
- Route 532 (Bucks Road) between Route 213 (Bridgetown Pike) and Rocksville Road in Lower Southampton and Northampton Townships
- Gibson Road and Bristol Road between Bensalem Boulevard and Overland Road in Bensalem Township
- Oxford Valley Road and Reading Avenue between Edgewood Road and Main Street in Lower Makefield Township and Yardley Borough
This project will cost PennDOT more than $3 billion. The plan is to mill the existing roadway surface and repave the state highways with new asphalt. The ultimate goal is for a smoother riding surface for all motorists.
According to Act 89 or Pennsylvania’s Transportation Plan, 100 percent of the project is already funded.
Local resurfacing is expected to end Friday, July 28, while work on the entire project will last until October.
