Road Rage Leads To Gunfire in Lower South

Lower Southampton Police are investigating a road rage incident that caused shots to be fired, around 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

The dispute began at the intersection of Old Bristol Road and Bridgetown Pike. When the eventual, victim honked his horn at the car in front of him. Both drivers traveled south on Bridgetown, then the victim was followed to Prospect Ave and East Myrtle Ave, where the passenger fired one round at the victim.

Police said a white female 25 to 30-years-old was driving and a white male with a shaved head was the passenger who shot the gun, around the same age.

The victim’s passenger side rear door was struck. No injuries were reported. The car (pictured below) is believed to be a dark grey four-door Kia Optima.

Lt. Mike Pennington said they are working to track down businesses security footage to help the investigation.
