The Lower Southampton Township Police thanked their residents this week for helping find a woman suspected of stealing lottery tickets and claiming the winnings.
Two weeks ago, police asked for the community’s help to identify a woman caught on surveillance video taking the tickets from the counter and fleeing the store. Now, police say they have charged Amy Weber, 36, from Langhorne with theft and receiving stolen property.
“Lawmen credit surveillance footage and numerous witnesses that emerged and helped with bring this individual out of the shadows,” the Lower Southampton Township Police posted on Crimewatch. “Job well done!”
Dubbed the “Merry Millionare” by the LSTPD, Weber allegedly was able to cash the stolen tickets because the proper authorities were not aware of the thefts in time. A summons was mailed to her address Tuesday.
