Bucks County Detectives and Northampton Township Police are asking for the public’s help in finding Daniel Kenneth Mooney, 26, a person of interest in the double homicide of a young married couple in Churchville.
The bodies of Tyler Christopher Roy, 28, and his wife Christina Celenza Roy, 27, were found on the second floor of their Northampton home located on Kitty Knight Drive.
“He (Mooney) may be walking with a pronounced limp,” First Assistant District Attorney Gregg Shore said Wednesday afternoon.
“There is an active arrest warrant for Mr. Mooney as a result of an unrelated car theft that occurred in Northampton Township April 30.”
Mooney stole the Roy’s Ford Edge SUV, which was found Wednesday morning in Northeast Philadelphia along with this cell phone. According to Facebook, Mooney was living in Croydon, but previously lived in the Northampton and attended Council Rock South.
A former classmate of Mooney’s who wants to stay anonymous said he, “never seemed off in high school but he eventually got into drugs and has been struggling with that for years…it totally took over his life and got the best of him in the worst way.”
DA Shore has not released any inclination the double homicides were drug-related or that the victims had any “prior relationship between them.”
Northampton Police Chief Michael Clark said there was no sign of forced entry to the house. Clark said he met the couple when they purchased the home in 2016.
The Roy’s were discovered by a house painter, who was working on the outside of the home, around 10 a.m.
“We believe he (Mooney) could be armed,” Shore said but has not released the cause of death.
Autopsies will be conducted Thursday morning to establish the causes of death.
Anyone who encounters Mooney in person is cautioned not to confront him, but to call 911 immediately. Anyone with information about Mooney’s whereabouts is asked to call (215) 322-6114 or submit a tip on Crime Watch.
