Theresa Ricci will be the new Director of Secondary Education for the Pennsbury School District.
She was selected by the Board of School Directors at their meeting held Thursday, June 21.
Ricci has served as Principal at Charles Boehm Middle School in Pennsbury for the past 11 years. In 2015, Ricci was named the State Principal of the Year by the Pennsylvania Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals.
Charles Boehm Middle School was also recognized in 2014 as a State and National School of Character by Washington, D.C.’s Character.org.
Ms. Ricci earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics in Boston College and then pursued her Master of Science degree in Teaching at The College of New Jersey. She is currently at Gwynedd Mercy University earning a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. Ms. Ricci also has a certificate in Educational Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania.
“Throughout the interview process, numerous Pennsbury stakeholders met with Ms. Ricci and noted her commitment to the District for 21 years, serving in multiple roles,” said Pennsbury Superintendent William J. Gretzula, Ed.D. “I look forward to supporting Ms. Ricci’s growth and transition into this new leadership opportunity.”
Her new position entails reporting to the Superintendent and ensuring the District’s secondary school program is carried out effectively so all students learn the curriculum. The position will also require Ms. Ricci to manage secondary co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
