The Pennsbury School Board recently added their newly elected members and voted for leadership roles.
Thursday night, the board kept Jacqueline Redner as the president. She replaced Gary Sanderson when Sanderson stepped down earlier this year. T.R. Kannan’s selection as vice president was unanimous by the nine-member board.
Christine Toy-Dragoni and Nancy Lawson were sworn in during the special session which started at 7:30 p.m. at the Fallsington School on Yardley Avenue.
A regular meeting followed afterward, mainly to complete board business left from previous sessions. There was a long discussion about contingency budgeting, and other monetary concerns with current projects recently completed or expected to be worked on in the coming weeks. Public comment also brought out a few concerned citizens asking questions about the district budget and salaries.
This is not the first time Ms. Redner held the top position for the board.
“I feel honored that they elected me again to serve as president, and T.R. is great… he’s going to do a good job – we’re going to work well together,” she told WBCB after the meeting adjourned.
With most of the school board remaining the same from before the election, it was a business-as-usual atmosphere for the members.
