Pennsbury School Board Member Joins Falls Township, Creates Vacancy

District Judge Jan Vislosky swears in Supervisor John Palmer.

A Pennsbury School Board of Directors member has joined the Falls Township Board of Supervisors. In accepting the new role, he has created a vacancy at Pennsbury.

District Judge Jan Vislosky swore in John Palmer to the Board of Supervisors at the Jan. 6, 2020 reorganization meeting last Monday. He fills the void Supervisor Chairman Bob Harvie left behind in becoming a Bucks County Commissioner. Palmer will serve the remaining two years of Harvie’s term.

“It’s an honor to be up here,” Palmer said. “I’m going to do my best and hopefully fill Bob’s shoes to the best of my ability.”

In his eight years with Pennsbury, Palmer served as municipal liaison for Falls Township and board finance committee. He currently works at the Township of Falls Authority as an operator, and has experience as a volunteer firefighter.

Pennsbury must now fill the Region 2 School Director position Palmer left behind.

“The Board wishes Mr. Palmer well and appreciates his eight years of service to his Pennsbury constituents,” the school district said in a statement.

Anyone interested must submit a resume and cover letter by Jan. 15. The term will last through Nov. 2021.
