This year’s Pennsbury High School Commencement has moved to Thursday evening to avoid the rain. Unlike 2020, all students will be graduating on the same night.
Supervisor of Communication Strategies Ann Langtry sent out the alert Wednesday morning. Langtry advised all other details for the ceremony, including its 6 p.m. start time, will remain the same.
A total 770 seniors will be receiving their diplomas Thursday night. As always, the event will be at Falcon Field at PHS East campus in Falls Township.
Pennsbury adjusted last year’s Commencement to span over two days. Due to social distancing requirements, the students were divided alphabetically by last name.
The National Weather Service is predicting a foul forecast for Falcon Field and the surrounding area Wednesday.
“Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 4pm. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain,” NWS predicts. “New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.”
