The Pennsbury School District has a new Director of Financial Services after last week’s Board meeting.
Kimberly Zedalis is replacing long-time administrator Joanne Godzieba, who has chosen to retire after 31 years in the position. She takes over the position officially on Mar. 18.
“I am honored and excited at the opportunity to work at Pennsbury again. I just wanted to thank Joanne for her support and mentorship over the past twelve years,” Zedalis said. “Having worked with her and for her for many years, I know I have huge shoes to fill. I will do my very best to maintain the highest standards that she has set at the district.”
Zedalis served as the district’s staff accountant from 2007 thru 2015. She briefly worked as a finance officer at Valley Day School in Morrisville, then in 2016 started as Financial Services Manager for the Neshaminy School District. Superintendent William Gretzula is pleased to have her back.
“Ms. Zedalis rose quickly to the top of our candidate pool,” said Gretzula. “She was well-respected for her prior work in the District, and returns with great support from those with whom she will interact most closely on a daily basis. I look forward to working closely with Kim for years to come.”
As Director of Financial Services, Ms. Zedalis will answer to the Business Administrator and handle financial, accounting, and bookkeeping for the district. She will help prepare the budget and manage accounts for the general fund, cafeteria, federal programs, and student activities.
Zedalis earned her Master’s in Business Administration from La Salle University and holds a B.S. in the same major from Widener University. Her starting salary is about $104,000.
