With Halloween in the rearview mirror, Payroll Service Solutions is hosting a Thanksgiving Food Drive.

This is the first time Payroll Service Solutions has decided to hold a food drive and it’s in part due to the pandemic.

Sales Administrator Nicole Christmann says they’ve seen firsthand how shutdowns have impacted businesses and forced them to lay off employees. The goal is to make sure every family can enjoy a Thanksgiving meal.

“This year of all years is probably going to be even harder for people for these types of things,” said Christmann. “Plus, with schools being closed where traditionally there’s a bunch of food drives, we figured there might be a decrease in donations this year.”

People can drop off donations Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 900 Jaymor Road, Southampton. PSS has set up a donation box in the lobby. They ask anyone entering the building to wear a mask.

The drive will directly benefit the Bucks County Housing Group pantries in Penndel and Doylestown.

Acceptable donations include:

  • Stuffing mix,
  • Rolls or bread mix,
  • Gravy/broth,
  • Canned potatoes,
  • Canned yams/sweet potatoes,
  • Cranberry sauce,
  • Canned vegetables
  • Coffee/tea/sugar
  • $15-$20 gift cards to grocery stores for turkeys. (Giant, ACME, Weis, Shop Rite, Redner’s)
