The PA Department of Labor and Industry launched a portal Monday to help those looking for a job to connect with life-sustaining businesses.

Officials will update the PA COVID-19 job portal every day with new opportunities. This will ensure businesses in need are in the spotlight and job seekers have the latest information.

“Many life-sustaining businesses across Pennsylvania are hiring and this new portal will help connect them with people looking for a job,” said L&I Secretary Jerry Oleksiak.

Anyone searching for employment can visit www.pacareerlink.pa.gov. Then, click on the green banner saying, “PA COVID-19 Jobs – Hiring Immediately.”

The user will be taken to a page with a list of employers in alphabetical order. It includes location, positions, available shifts, number of open positions, and pay.

For businesses searching for employees, they can submit a form to the website online, here. To qualify, businesses must have at least 10 open positions and qualify as a life-sustaining business.

Officials say more than 1,334,000 unemployment compensation claims had been filed with the department over the past four weeks.

The portal is one step the Department of Labor and Industry is taking to address the sharp increase. It has also brought back retirees, added technology and received help from other state agencies.

The COVID-19 job portal is part of the PA CareerLink system.
