Middletown Township welcomed a new police officer to its squad at Monday night’s Board of Supervisors meeting.

“Dan as worked as a CSO for our police department since August 2017. He’s done a fantastic job for us,” Bartorilla said. “Now he transitions over to the other side. He’s currently attending the Montgomery Police Academy and is set to graduate in December.”

Dan Heyduk, 21, has lived in Bucks County his entire life. He graduated from Bucks County Technical High School and earned an associates in justice at Bucks County Community College.

“I know this township has a really good community behind it,” Heyduk. “Working with the police department for the last couple years, I’ve definitely noticed the police and community get along really well. I’m definitely glad I’m in a township with that kind of relationship.”

Heyduk’s extended family filled up a large section of the room at two dozen members strong. The new officer was officially sworn in before a judge in late June, but this ceremony gave the Heyduk family another chance to give him a standing ovation.
