Pennsbury High School has a new acting assistant principal as of last Thursday’s Board of School Directors meeting. Ms. Amanda D’Amico will begin her role to start the second half of the year.

Ms. D’Amico currently holds a position as a Technology Administrative Intern. She began working for the Pennsbury School District back in 2012 at Village Park Elementary teaching second grade.

The opportunity arises from a fair bit of shuffling in the administration. First, PHS West Principal Lisa Becker announced her decision to take sabbatical leave for the upcoming semester.

To fill the void, the Board appointed Ms. Cherrissa Gibson as Acting Principal in late 2018. Now, D’Amico will take Gibson’s former post.

The school district included D’Amico’s credentials in a memo late last week.

“Ms. D’Amico earned a Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership and a Master of Science degree in Elementary Education, both from St. Joseph’s University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from The Pennsylvania State University, and has a Principal PK-12 certificate, along with certifications in Elementary Education, Mid-Level Mathematics, Special Education PK-12, and Student Assistance Program K-12. Ms. D’Amico also has Google Level 1 and 2 Educator certifications.”
