Five state representatives from districts within Bucks County have endorsed Commissioner Chair Rob Loughery and State Rep. Gene DiGirolamo for County Commissioners. The state reps., all Republican, made the announcement collectively Friday in a press release.
State Rep. Frank Farry (142-R) chairs the Fire and Emergency Services Caucus in the PA House. He is also the Middletown-Langhorne Fire Chief, and offered his endorsement.
“I have had the opportunity to work with Gene DiGirolamo on issues important to fire and emergency services personnel here in Pennsylvania. He has been a key ally in Harrisburg, and I know he will continue to do so as County Commissioner. Serving as a volunteer firefighter in my hometown of Langhorne for 30 years, I have personally seen Rob Loughery’s commitment to supporting our County’s firefighters and first responders.”
Also on the list of endorsers are State Reps. Wendi Thomas (178-R), Todd Polinchock (144-R), Meghan Schroeder (29-R) and Craig Staats (145-R).
Loughery and DiGirolamo are running against sitting Commissioner Diane Ellis-Marseglia and Falls Township Supervisor Chair Bob Harvie, both Democrats.
The Board of Commissioners is made of three individuals serving four year terms. It will always have two people from the majority party and one from the minority. The general election date is Nov. 5, 2019.
