Local police officers are stepping up their patrols this weekend to catch anyone drinking and driving.
Extra officers will be conducting roving DUI patrols beginning 10 p.m. Saturday through 3 a.m. Sunday.
“Please celebrate safely this July 4th,” said Bucks County District Attorney Matthew D. Weintraub. “Don’t drink or do drugs and drive. Stay safe, and alive.”
193 people died in DUI-related crashes throughout the country over the July 4th holiday in 2018.
The following police departments will be conducting roving DUI patrols:
- Middletown Township
- Newtown Township
- Lower Southampton Township
- Falls Township
- Penndel Borough
- Warrington Township
- New Britain Township
