The League of Women Voters of Bucks County wants to get more young people focused on local politics.

LWVBC has launched their Get Out & Vote PSA Contest. It is open to all Bucks County students.

To enter, students must make a 1-minute public service announcement video for their peers highlighting the importance of voting in local elections.

PSA’s should include the responsibilities of Borough Council Members, Township Supervisors, and School Board Directors.

The League provides information on these roles with guidelines for the contest here.

“We will use your PSA to inform the public, but especially your peers, about how these elected officials impact everyday lives. The health of our democracy depends on an informed electorate voting in every election.”

There is prize money for winners. First place gets $500, second gets $250, and third gets $100.

But students have to get on it quickly. The contest ends March 10, 2021.

Judges will decide the winner based on the following criteria:

  • Clarity of explaining how these elected officials impact your life
  • Creative use of sound
  • Creative use of graphics
  • Appropriateness for public use
