An ongoing scam ring has conned residents out of their money in recent weeks.

Bensalem Police are advising to avoid, “A well-dressed male in his 40’s usually at a convenience store or anywhere an ATM is located nearby.”

The male has a specific routine for acquiring people’s money.

According to, “The unidentified male sometimes has a child with him and states that he is traveling home to Miami but needs gas money.”

The actor then asks for $100 from the potential victim to feed his child. Upon that request, the man offers to sell the potential victim a gold necklace, gold ring or some other jewelry (all of which are fake).

The Bensalem Police department is advising residents to alert their friends and relatives of this scam via social media.
