Six fire departments and the Bucks County Rescue Squad responded early Friday afternoon to a report of a house fire on the 600 block of 6th Avenue in Bristol Township.
Firefighters responded at about 1:15 p.m. to an automatic smoke alarm detector service in the household. Exactly one minute later, dispatch received a call from the residence confirming the presence of flames.
The fire may have started in the attic due to an electrical issue, according to Bristol Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito. It spread quickly, heavily damaging the second floor and causing water damage to the first floor.
Luckily, no one was injured and as an added bonus the home is insured. The Red Cross is providing assistance to the family.
Departments credited with responding to the scene include Croydon, Third District, Newportville, Union, Edgely, American Hose, and Bristol Fire Company.
