Council Rock School District To Vote On Full Time Reopen

The Council Rock School Board meets on Oct. 1, 2020.

The Council Rock School District could be returning to a typical, five day in-person learning schedule. It depends on how the school board votes at Thursday night’s special meeting.

If approved, students would have the option to have full time in-person learning starting Monday, November 16. The district has been operating under a hybrid model since September 29.

However, this vote comes right as Council Rock North is reopened for the first time since October 9. The high school in Newtown Township had been closed since last Tuesday, Oct. 13, after ten students tested positive for coronavirus.

It took less than two full weeks of the school operating in a hybrid model for the outbreak to occur.

Other school districts in the local area are taking a slower approach to reopening. The Pennsbury and Bristol Borough school districts recently approved similar hybrid reopen plans.

Meantime, the Bristol Township School District rejected a potential hybrid reopen plan Monday. Its students will continue to learn remotely full time.
