The National Weather Service is predicting another Code Blue to begin this upcoming weekend.
Given the extended period of cold in the forecast, the Bucks County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) joins the County Health Department and Advocated for the Homeless and Those in Need (AHTN) to issue the declaration.
Do not let the 60 degrees on Saturday fool you, the Code Blue will begin at 7 p.m on Jan. 13, and end 7 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 19.
The Bucks County on-call church for Jan. is Woodside Church in Yardley located at 1667 Edgewood Rd. Volunteers will coordinate transportation, temporary shelter, food and other necessities for Bucks’ resident in need.
County Emergency Management Director Scott Forester and Health Director Dr. David Damsker notified local public safety officials of the Code Blue declaration. They suggest checking on elderly neighbors and pay close attention to pets during the anticipated extreme cold.
