The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office has kindly informed people their local police will be conducting roaming DUI patrols for New Year’s Eve.

Specifically, police in Middletown and Warrington Townships will be out starting at 10 p.m. to keep drunk drivers off the roads until 3 a.m. Tuesday morning. Grants from PennDOT fund these essential patrols to keep the roads safe.

“Please celebrate the New Year safely with friends and family. Don’t drink or do drugs and drive,” said Bucks County District Attorney Matthew D. Weintraub. “Police departments all over the county are on high alert for DUIs tonight. If you drive hammered, you’ll get nailed.”

The DA’s office strongly encourages anyone planning to go out for a celebration to plan a way home in advance.

Plumstead, Upper Southampton, and Richland will also have roving patrols. It is also a good rule of thumb to assume every municipality will have law enforcement of some kind to punish drunk driving.
