Eleven people died from COVID-19 in Bucks this past weekend, increasing the county death toll to 88. Almost all of the victims were residents of long term care facilities.
More than half of all COVID-19 deaths in Bucks so far occurred over the past week. 147 people are hospitalized with symptoms and 25 of them are in critical condition.
With the exception of one 50-year-old male victim, all other deaths Saturday and Sunday were between the ages of 67 and 98 years old. The average age of the victims was 81 years old.
They all were residents of either long-term care facilities or medical rehabilitation centers.
Additionally, there has been an increase of new cases per day since this time last week. There was a brief period over Easter weekend with about 60 to 70 new cases per day.
This past Friday there were 143 new cases, then 109 Saturday, and 94 Sunday. Bucks now has a total of 1,886 cases.
But as the number of new cases grows, so does the number of people who have made full recoveries. 379 Bucks County residents have been released from isolation.
