Volunteer firefighters are graduating tonight at Bucks County Community College.

Fifty six firefighters enrolled in courses at BCCC this spring received recognition of their completion of national certification training. The almost five dozen students were split into two courses. One was taught at the Lower Bucks Public Safety Training Center in Croydon and the other at the Quakertown Fire Department.

One student from each course received special recognition with an Outstanding Student Award at the ceremony.

The first outstanding student was Russell Cross of Perkasie. He is member of the Dublin Volunteer Fire Co. The second was Alexandra Finfer of Yardley, who is a member of the Yardley-Makefield Fire Co. Station 0.

Director of State Field Operations Matt Hatrak spoke at the ceremony and had kind words for the newest volunteers.

“On behalf of the staff at the Public Safety Training Center, we would like to congratulate them on their honors they earned, wish them luck, and hope they continue their training process,” Hatrak said.

The graduates will go to fire departments all over Bucks County.
