A Bucks County man has been sentenced to state prison.
Following the death of Gail Olson, 67, last summer, Tyler Buras, 28, of Bristol Township has been sentenced to four to ten years behind bars.
Olson was walking along the shoulder in the 200 block of Newportville Road on July 2, 2017, when Buras lost control of his 1997 Buick Park Avenue sedan. The car headed into oncoming traffic, before striking Olson. Olson was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where she was pronounced dead of multiple injuries.
Buras plead guilty to multiple charges including homicide by vehicle while DUI.
Buras told police he had consumed four to five beers and smoked marijuana the day of the accident. His blood alcohol concentration was measured at .213 percent after the crash, more than double the limit for legal driving.
The case was investigated by the Bristol Township Police Department.
