A woman found a body Friday morning while walking her dog along the 300 block of Bellevue Avenue in Langhorne Borough. After seeing the the dead man laying in the bushes at around 8:30 a.m., she stopped a motorist who then called 911.
Police are now investigating to determine the identity of the victim. However, many details remain murky.
Langhorne Borough Police Chief John Godzieba confirmed the man was shot in the head. He also noted how unusual it was to find anything like this in the borough.
“This is a very quiet town with a low crime rate,” Godzieba said told reporters.
Detectives did not find a firearm. Additionally, investigators are trying to determine if the man was killed at the scene, or killed elsewhere and then moved.
Police notified motorists via Twitter that Bellevue Avenue would remain closed for several hours. It was reopened shortly after the Bucks County Coroner’s Office removed the body shortly before 2:30 p.m.
The Pennsylvania State Police, Langhorne Borough Police, and Middletown Police arrived to the scene. Bucks County Detectives are conducting the investigation.
