A Bensalem High School teacher’s aide has been suspended amid allegations of misconduct with students.

The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and Bensalem Township Police are leading the investigation. It concerns “allegations of inappropriate relationships with a number of students,” according to law enforcement.

Authorities say the suspect is also a junior varsity basketball coach. They have not yet publicly identified the teacher’s aid, but a statement from the Bensalem School District confirmed he is male.

In the same statement, the district said it prioritizes the well being of its students. School officials say they are working with law enforcement.

“As soon as we learned of the situation being investigated, we removed the individual from his work and coaching duties and all interactions with students. He was immediately placed on leave.

“At the time of his hiring, all required background checks were clear. Because this is a personnel matter and an active investigation, we cannot comment at this time. Counseling services will be made available to all students who may wish to discuss this matter.”
