A preliminary hearing for an alleged toddler-killer from Falls Township was held in district court Wednesday morning. District Judge Jan Vislosky ordered Shawn Felmey to remain in Bucks County Correctional Facility without bail.
Felmey, 45, faces charges of criminal homicide for the death of a 22-month-old boy last December.
An autopsy shows the child suffered fatal head trauma. The forensic pathologist indicated the injury was consistent with being swung or thrown.
Authorities say Felmey fled to Florida, but Bucks Detectives apprehended him in mid-May.
Witnesses say they saw the man handle the toddler roughly, according to an affidavit. The same documents claim Felmey also lied to police and changed his story multiple times during interviews.
Felmy has a formal arraignment date set for September 14th.
