After a month on the run, authorities have arrested a Falls Township man charged with sexually assaulting a minor.
The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Florida picked up Shane Ferguson, 37, in Port St. Lucie Wednesday morning.
The Falls Township Police allege Ferguson raped a 13 year old in Falls, then fled south. They first announced his arrest warrant in mid-January.
This is not Ferguson’s first encounter with the law. Authorities say he violated the conditions of his PA State Parole. In 2015, he pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman with a knife.
Eric Gartner, United States Marshal for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, released a statement following Ferguson’s arrest.
“Crimes against children diminish us all, as even their existence is an affront to civilized society. We are thankful to have been able to support Chief Whitney, the Falls Township Police Department, and the citizens of Bucks County in capturing the subject of this heinous crime so quickly.”
