The Fourth of July may look very different this year with no parades and many events cancelled. But in the age of the pandemic, there are different ways to celebrate Independence Day.
The Newtown Brewing Company will have a Cousins Maine Lobster food truck posted outside from noon to 7 p.m. offering crustaceans.
Shady Brook Farm in Lower Makefield is doing a pick-your-own berries event this weekend with social distancing in mind. Blueberries and assorted flowers are the main draws, as fireworks are cancelled.
Wagons will take people out to the fields, though tickets must be purchased in advance. Friday and Sunday hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., though Shady Brook closes at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
The next day, July 5th, Falls Township is kicking off its Summer Concert series with Big Band from the Valley at the community park from 6 to 8 p.m.
And with fireworks sales up significantly at sellers throughout the region, there should be no shortage of fanfare from private residences.
