600 Unit Residential Apartments Approved For Oxford Valley Mall

The Middletown BoS reviews a final land development plan to add residential apartments to Oxford Valley Mall.

The Middletown Township Board of Supervisors has unanimously approved a plan to bring about 600 units of apartment housing to Oxford Valley Mall.

This will include two residential buildings taking up about 20 acres near the old Boscovs targeting a higher end market. These units are, for the most part, intended for families with children.

The plans show this new space having pools, a dog park, and other amenities. Each building will also have a garage to address parking concerns.

Simon Property Group, the owner of Oxford Valley Mall, first floated plans for these units last year. At the time, developers stated they were turning the shopping mall into a “retail campus.”

Traffic Engineer Phil Wursta noted the mall owners will provide a shuttle service from the apartments to the Woodbourne SEPTA station. Wursta called it a “tremendous amenity for the whole community.”

Township Engineer Isaac Kessler added Simon Property Group was cooperative throughout the process.

“I have to give the applicant a lot of credit for working with us and the consultants during our reviews,” said Kessler.
